I am so enjoying this month with my extended
family visiting from Finland. This group includes

Hi Online-Marketing,

This week I was camping and hiking in
the Sierra Nevada mountains with my
family. Over four and half days we
covered much of King’s Canyon and also
Sequoia Canyon National Parks. But it
almost didn’t happen…

On the day we arrived they came to me
with concerns about something they had
seen on a poster right outside of the
Visitor’s Center. They said that there
was a manhunt on for someone named
M.T. Leonis and that we should think
about going back home until this man
was captured.

I was stumped. There was nothing on the
website about this wanted man, nor on
the internet for anyone in the area. So
I thought and thought and once I got it
the mystery was finally solved.

M.T. Leonis was a mountain lion! They
had placed warnings around the parks
to be on the lookout for mountain lions
while hiking and camping. Because my
family speaks Finnish as their native
tongue, they did not understand at all.
And we made through the week without
seeing any mountain lions or even any
suspicious people.

Communication is everything, in life and
in business.

Hi Online-Marketing,

I am writing this message to you from my
home office in Santa Barbara, California
on Tuesday, July 11th around six in the
morning. Th reason I’m sharing these details
with you is because I’ve been mostly “off
the grid” for the past five days.

During that time you received my emails
and even some social media updates, but
for the most part all of that was queued
up in the days leading up to my trip. For
four full days I was camping and hiking
deep in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Along
with my family visiting from Finland, we
spent time in Sequoia and King’s Canyon
National Parks enjoying nature and each
other’s company.

Even though I spent less than an hour a
day using wifi, and completely missed one
day when there was no signal available my
business continued and my income did not
skip a beat. I even managed to hang on to
second place in an affiliate contest that
I thought might slip to third place.

And if you downloaded my book, you even
helped me to become a multiple bestselling
author once again.

I only had my iPhone with me – no iPad,
laptop, or other device. Now that is a
portable business!

The point I am making is that having your
business online means that you don’t always
have to be here in real time. Your time is your
own, something I longed for while working as a
teacher and in real estate.
