When I first came online in 2006 I floundered.
There was so much to see, to learn, to read.
I didn’t realize at first that I need to “do”
more than to see, to learn, and to read.

I started with the free stuff, only to realize
most of that was incomplete. I was getting bits
and pieces but my puzzle wasn’t coming together
in a way that would build an income producing
business.

The dilemma was in deciding if I was serious
enough about becoming a successful entrepreneur
to put some money where my mouth was. I was
“saying” I wanted to change my life, but instead
of spending any money I thought I could learn
enough from free articles, reports, webinars,
and teleseminars.

Can you imagine if your doctor had prepared for
a career in medicine by reading articles and
watching some YouTube videos?

You may laugh at my analogy, but there’s a lot
of truth here if you think about it.

So I hired a mentor, got involved with the group,
began attending live events, and spent focused
and dedicated time daily on building my business.
Within eighteen months I had replaced my previous
income as a classroom teacher and a real estate
broker and residential appraiser.

After that day I continued to increase my income.
I was also working only about a third of the hours
each week than I had in my previous life.

business and build your reputation. I don’t
believe I have ever taught it in this way

Hi Online-Marketing,

Today is when we will experience the first
solar eclipse in North America since 1979.
We’ve driven north to be able to view it in
the most favorable way. I love astronomy!

Back in 1979 I was in law school and thought
that was the bright future for me. Then I
got into real estate and finally into teaching
and each time I went through the cycle of
elation, disappointment, and then uncertainty
as to my future.

It turned out that I was best suited for life
as an entrepreneur, but it would take me until
2005 to figure that out. Now my life is one in
which I call the shots and live the lifestyle
that best suits my goals and personality.

Hi Online-Marketing,

You may be wondering what the secret is to
being productive and successful as an online
entrepreneur. It’s actually no secret.

My online business runs like clockwork after
more than eleven years because I continue to
stick with the basics…

Each week I participate in five activities that
keep my business moving forward. They are:

1) Writing – blog posts, short reports, articles,
presentations, and books. This averages about an
hour each day.

2) Mentoring – I speak with or email one or two
of my mentees or clients each day. This is another
hour.

3) Product Creation – I always have one or two
projects in the works and I love working on them
about an hour a day.

4) Learning – this includes reading, taking online
courses, going to a physical class, or meeting with
one of my mentors. Another hour or so here.

5) Marketing – much of this is now automated, but
I show up to put it all into place so I’m always
able to answer the question “What’s for sale?”

I average four to five days a week with all five
of these, and do at least two of these things
each day. This means I “work” about fifteen to
twenty hours a week.

When I recommend my own or other people’s products,
courses, and trainings to you it’s because I know
they will help you to achieve your goals and
dreams as an online entrepreneur.
