Hi Online-Marketing,

This week I’m in Santa Barbara and last night they
issued an evacuation order for those in the burn
areas from a year ago. Today will be the heaviest
rain storm since we had the debris flow (mudslides)
that claimed the lives of 23 people, 4 of whom I
knew well.

My role today is to make sure the domestic pets are
safely cared for while their owners are dealing with
human safety. Because I know so many people in an
area that stretches all along the coastline it’s an
easier task than you might imagine to place over 100
dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and other creatures. I
have been able to persuade people to take additional
animals into their home and be grateful for this huge
opportunity to help out.

Hi Online-Marketing,

If you’ve been with me for awhile you know I have
been podcasting since 2011. After a two year hiatus
I have now begun my third podcast on the topic of
marketing. But this time I hit a glitch with the
technology, as this is not my forte.

I’m being mentored by an expert in podcasting and
I knew if I retraced my steps I’d see where I went
wrong and be able to get it all set up. I did that
at five this morning and within 24 hours my new podcast
will be available on iTunes so I may share it with you.

Lessons learned here:

* Even with technology the answer is always there
* Be more detail oriented with your tasks
* Document each step to see what needs to be done
* Give yourself a day or two to step away from
the problem or issue
* Seek out answers and ask for help (this is a BIG one)
* Look at it again during your “prime time” hours
* Be persistent and confident you’ll find the solution
* Never, never ever give up!

In my previous life I took none of these steps and
then I wondered why things did not work out as I had
hoped. Now I understand it differently. The power of
persistence is one that can take you to the top of your
field and open many doors.
