Hi Online-Marketing,

I like to bake. Okay, I actually LOVE
to bake, and if given some even a little
bit of encouragement I have been known
to bake until a major ingredient is no
longer available or until I drop. So
far I’ve never passed out from baking
for too long, so you get the picture.

With birthdays, graduations, and other
milestones over the past few days I
found myself baking more than usual.
Now I am finished and can get back to
other items on my agenda, like spending
time with family and friends away from
the kitchen and finishing up my book
before I leave for my trip next week.

Hi Online-Marketing,

If you’ve known me for any period of
time then you know I pretty much always
have something to say. That wasn’t the
case when my Rotary Club honored me
with a special award yesterday. It is
called the Merrill Hoffman Award, and
was created three years ago when this
great man passed away. I have big shoes
to fill as I carry forward with the goals
and ideals of what he stood for, and I
promised my fellow Rotarians I would do
just that for the remainder of my life.

Thanks for walking this journey beside
me, as none of this would have happened
without you being in my life. Please know
I do not ever forget this fact.

This morning I wrote for an hour, took
care of some offline chores, and now
I’m getting ready for a call with my
nutrition coach. This sure doesn’t seem
like work to me, even though it’s how
my days are typically structured.

Hi Online-Marketing,

Today it’s gloomy and overcast here
in Santa Barbara, and I find that to
be very appealing. A friend invited
me to take a short ride in his boat
this morning and we were the only ones
on the water as far as the eye could
see. In my previous life I could never
have gone boating in the middle of
the week, or even very many weekends
because I was working so much.

Now I’m back at my computer and enjoying
the process of finishing my latest book,
previewing covers for it and for another
coloring book I’ll be publishing, and
also stretching myself until my arms
are sore.

That last part is Kelly McCausey’s
fault for hosting her June “Stretch

Last night I began to feel a little sorry
for myself because of my torn Achilles tendon.
