Today is International Women’s Day and the goal is gender
balance and equality worldwide. Last night I attended a
fundraiser with Zonta.org, a business women’s group I’ve
been a part of for almost a decade. We raised money for
a school in Nigeria, near the Gulf of Guinea. The school
had to close down two years ago when another non-profit
ran out of funds. My group has made a 5 year commitment
to reopening the school for boys and girls in the area so
that everyone benefits.
I have started a team on Kiva and would love to have you
be a part of that. A $25 loan – yes, we are repaid! – makes
so much difference and perhaps you could choose a woman
from a country you have a connection with.
Helping women anywhere helps men, women, girls, and boys
everywhere, I honestly believe.
