Today is Memorial Day in the U.S.
It’s a day where we remember and
honor those who’ve given their
lives in service to our country
and there are parades and other
ceremonies everywhere.
I hope you don’t mind if I ask you
to also remember the six college
students who were killed in the
massacre near Santa Barbara Friday
night. This has shaken our little
community to the core as we think
of these young lives taken in such
a violent and horrific way.
My grandson is starting there in
the fall and now I am afraid for
him. I haven’t had this level of
fear for many years.
Hold your loved ones a little bit
closer and enjoy your day, no matter
where you are in the world. I’m
going to the Elk’s Lodge shortly
to spend time with the veterans
and to than them for their service
and sacrifice.
