Last night I volunteered with my Rotary Club
to serve the food, clean up, and assist anyone
who needed any type of help at a celebration
for another non-profit in my community. During
the four hours I was there I was able to spend
time with our Mayor, two City Council members,
the Chancellor of our community college, and other
people devoted to making our city a better place.
This is all a part of becoming a local celebrity
where you are able to rub elbows with the movers
and shakers in your city and accomplish goals
that might otherwise be next to impossible to
achieve on your own.

acknowledge the twelve year old boy from my city
who wrote a chapter in my baseball anthology book
for his writing contribution. The Arts Commission
honored me for my writing several years ago and I

it will be on their agenda on Tuesday and I’m very
excited about this. Local celebrity has advantages!
