Last night I saw a documentary film
called Jodorowsky’s Dune as part of
the ongoing film series hosted by the
Santa Barbara Film Festival. This
film chronicles the story of French-
Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky
as he attempted to bring a science
fiction novel to the screen. Even Dali
agreed to be in the film, but due to
his extreme perfectionism he had to
admit defeat seven years later and
another director (David Lynch) finally
brought Dune to the big screen.
My own perfectionism almost did me
in when I was first online, but I was
forced to get that under control or
risk losing my home and possibly going
bankrupt. The result was that I’ve
been cured of this insidious trait
forever, and now teach my students
to keep moving no matter what.
I often speak of my prayer when I
wanted to start my business. I asked
God to show me a way to earn money
from home – from my bedroom if that
was necessary – and to be able to pay
all of my financial obligations with
grace and ease.
I didn’t ask for passive income because
I had no idea that even existed then!

We’re having a heat wave in southern
California. It was in the 90s when I
left Santa Clarita yesterday and over
80, even by the beach in Santa Barbara.
