Twenty-five years ago today I woke up
to a world I did not recognize. All of
my worldly belongings were gone, and
the roof and three walls of my house
had been ripped away by the storm.
It was Hurricane Andrew, and I was living
in Miami at the time. It would be a full
week before the National Guard could get
me out, and that week brought horrors I
pray you never have to experience.
A few weeks later I was diagnosed with
Stage 3 breast cancer and my life became
even more unsteady as I fought with all I
had just to stay alive each day.
Perhaps all of this is why I’m so grateful
for my online business and why I take it
all so seriously. You benefit, I believe,
by my commitment to do whatever it takes
to succeed and to help others do the same.
If you tell me entrepreneurship is hard,
I’ll reply that it’s all relative to what
