Last night I had the honor of
spending several hours with a
few people you may have heard
of, and one you probably are
not familiar with.
The opening film was ‘Mission
Blue’, and the gala event I went
to afterwards was hosted by actor,
director, and environmentalist
Fisher Stevens, director David O.
Russell, and a botanist turned
oceanographer by the name of Dr.
Sylvia Earle. I was not very
familiar with her until recently,
and have now been moved by her
lifelong commitment to saving the
world’s oceans.
Dr. Earle told me that she hoped
many teachers would rally to screen
this film in their classrooms.
