Three times a year some friends of
mine hold an antique sale here in
Santa Barbara. They are antiques
dealers, meaning that they purchase
entire and partial estates and sell
off pieces to people who want, need,
or just like to collect objects of
interest. I’m a collector of stories,
and this is a funny one.
Today I picked up a night stand with
an interesting history. It belonged
to comedienne Carol Burnett and she
sold it when she remodeled her home
here in Santa Barbara in the fall. I
always enjoyed her comedy show and
