Hi Online-Marketing, Late last night and into this morning I brainstormed with my colleague and mentee Adrienne Dupree. Hi Online-Marketing, A good Friday morning to you! This week has been an active one, what with catching up on everything after my many weeks of travel over the summer. I even stopped last night to watch some of the Olympics, including the women’s gymnastics team. I loves what Coach Marta Karolyi had to say when asked what defined the American gymnasts: “It’s power, hard work, and preciseness. Consistency is our trademark.” I’m going to post this in my office and refer to it regularly. It’s how champions and successful entrepreneurs are made. Hi Online-Marketing, Let’s rewind to 1983 for a minute. I was still in my twenties and tired of jobs after college and searching for a career instead. One day I read an article about a career in real estate that caught my eye. It was a training program for just a dollar a day – $30 a month – and it promised to teach you how to get started in residential real estate and even to pass the state exam to get your license. This was very exciting for me and I signed up. The training was excellent and I’d love to tell you that I passed the exam the first time I took it, but that was not the case. Reluctantly I paid the thirty dollars for the second month’s training, and when I sat for the exam the second time around I passed with flying colors! Soon I was taking listings and had a few clients who needed to purchase homes. I thought back to how much thought I had given before signing up initially, and saw that I had wanted to stretch my dollars as far as possible without thinking clearly about the possibilities once I did the work and started my real estate business. Are you doing the same thing, or something very similar? Does the idea of investing a dollar a day make you wonder if you’d be able to achieve all of your goals before having to make the second month’s payment? If so, you’re just like I was when I was thinking about having my own real estate business. I’m so glad I stayed the course and moved forward. It was that training, one that I stayed in for over three years, that taught me what I needed in order to grow my own business, start investing in apartments and commercial properties, and got me out of the job market and into a solid career. Hi Online-Marketing, Each day begins much the same for me. I start writing by seven, based on my notes from the previous day. Right now I’m finishing a white paper for you on the eight streams of income that make up my business. Then I write an email message to you to let you know what I’m working on and to give you a link to something I have written or am teaching or that I want to recommend to you. By eleven, at the latest I’m finished and out the door to live my “regular” life. About three times a month I am hosting a webinar for my Online Incubator and Platinum Mastermind, as well as my online courses you may already be a part of with me. This is my business plan, and other than writing books and speaking at my own or other people’s events this is how I spend about twenty hours each week to earn eight times as much as I did while I was teaching in the classroom and doing real estate on a part-time basis.
