Hi Online-Marketing, My Santa Barbara Retreat continues through Monday morning. Yesterday we spent the afternoon with one of my mentors so he could meet the people here with me this weekend. When one of them said he believed there aren’t as many opportunities now as there were just a few years ago, Paul (my mentor) vehemently disagreed. This was what he shared with our group about money and financial success and how to have more of it… It’s not lack of opportunities, level of intelligence, or the willingness to work hard that stands in our way when it comes to achieving financial goals. There are opportunities everywhere. We are all smart enough. And entrepreneurs work as hard, or harder as anyone else. It’s willingness to stay focused on one or two projects, committing to completing whatever we start, having the confidence to share what we are working on with others, and working with a mentor who will guide us along the way. Not every product or course or project will be a home run, but most will be base hits if we follow this formula. And every once in awhile we will enjoy a grand slam. Hi Online-Marketing, Yesterday was the day the crew was to arrive to wire my new home with the latest in fiber optics and other technology. This house was completed over two months ago and it took this long to get the appointment. I would love to tell you that it all went smoothly and without a glitch, but that was not the case. Instead, the internet broke, the electricity went out, and the running water was the only modern convenience remaining. Right now I’m still at Starbucks on my computer and I’m not sure when this situation will be remedied. I’ll be working on my attitude regarding the value of technology and people who can make magic with this in my life. Many life lessons will come of this when I can finally turn my frown upside down. Hi Online-Marketing, After five days with my students, mentees, and the other participants at my seminar and workshop I spent the day reflecting on how and why some people are able to easily use something called “lifestyle design” to build up their online business around a life they choose while others will continue to flounder for years. It all comes down to… 1) Consistency – those who start and stop in their efforts to achieve success seldom do. I’ve always said that if you miss thirty days of taking regular action you are once again on day one of your business. Do something each day and you will accelerate your progress. 2) Mentorship – During my 13 years of online entrepreneurship I have not seen anyone reach six figures and beyond without the guidance of a mentor. Hi Online-Marketing, My latest live seminar and workshop wrapped up this morning. It was my twentieth in person event since 2010 and I have to say it was wonderful. Hi Online-Marketing, Yesterday was our “beach day” here in Los Angeles at my live event and workshop. We all took various modes of transportation to get to the Manhattan Beach pier where we broke into groups to discuss aspects of our businesses. This has been quite effective over the years I have been hosting my events. Then we had lunch where we could watch the ocean waves through huge plate glass windows.
