Hi Online-Marketing,
I pretty much always do what I say I’m going to do.
Why wouldn’t I? It’s part of modeling successful
people’s behavior, something I am a student of in
my daily thoughts and actions.
This morning I told you I was going to finish
reading the book “Wonder”. Check.
Then I said I would go see the film. Check.
Mission accomplished. But that’s not the whole story.
What I didn’t tell you was that I wanted to check
this book out at the library on Monday. I knew it
would be very difficult because the movie was coming
out yesterday.
In fact, I was number 18 on the waiting list. The
librarian told me it could be after the first of
the year before my name would come up and that I
might want to consider other options.
I didn’t want to.
I told her that I’ve have it before the film was
released. We then had a short discussion about my
online business and why I know people so well.
It turns out that the majority of people give up
long before they’ve given themselves a chance to
succeed.
They tell themselves stories about why others can
achieve goals with info product creation, affiliate
marketing, online courses, authorship, and more,
while they cannot.
None of those stories are true…unless you choose
to believe them.
I was sure that most of those seventeen people
ahead of me on the list to get the book would give
up long before their name came up. I was correct.
Four days after I requested the book, I received
notification that I was up. In less than three
hours I showed up at the library and checked it
out. That same librarian smiled as I handed her
my library card. I smiled all the way walking back
to my car.
Seventeen people deserved to check out this great
book before me, yet they were convinced they’d
have to buy it online or at the local bookstore,
wait until after the first of the year, or just
forget about reading it and see the movie anyway.
I decided to be successful doing it the way I had
planned to from the beginning.
Please don’t give up on anything you care about. I
believe in you. I want YOU to believe in you.
