In my subject line I mentioned a shift in the
online world. It’s around the business of coaching
and what I prefer to call “mentoring”. People are
once again teaching the coaching model as the way
to build an online business, in lieu of creating
a solid business around info products, affiliate
marketing, authorship, and teaching online courses.
An early mentor of mine taught me to limit my own
mentoring practice to no more than about 20% of my
business. I’ve kept it at 10% for more than five
years now.
Why?
Because passive and residual income just makes more
sense and certainly earns me more money. I’m earning
income 24/7/365 and that would not be possible if I
had to be on calls with many people all day long.
And I have LOWERED my mentoring fees over the years,
while coaches struggle to raise their fees because
of increases in the cost of living. Coaching all day
long is not sustainable, and that’s what you deserve.
Income that provides you with both financial and time
freedom rocks.
Why are my mentoring fees so low?
Because that same early mentor taught me to earn
income from DOING what I was teaching rather than
from my coaching or mentoring.
This is a controversial topic, but I’ve stood my
ground for many years now and will continue to do
so. You benefit from being able to work with me at
prices that are almost unheard of these days.
