Online-Marketing, what really happened on my way to Finland

Hi Online-Marketing,

I usually share more about my trip
to Finland when I first arrive, but
this year something happened that
was not so wonderful.

An hour into my flight from Los Angeles
to Amsterdam the pilot called for a
doctor or nurse to please come forward
to assist an ill passenger. Several
people came forward and we thought no
more about it.

Three hours later he announced that
we had to make a stop in Canada to
allow the woman who had taken ill
to leave the plane. Another hour
passed and it was announced that we
had been denied entry into Canada,
based on some rules related to travel
internationally. We had to turn back
to the U.S., and finally landed in
Detroit seven hours after takeoff.

This was a stressful time for everyone,
as we worried about the lady who had
become so ill, the possibility of
having to stay overnight in Detroit,
and our connecting flights in Europe.
There is no wifi on a transatlantic
flight, making it impossible to get
word to anyone in the world.

During this time I gave lots of thought
to my life, my business, and my future.
How would I handle it if were the one
who had to be taken off the plane? If
this were my last day, what would I do
differently?

As we sat on the tarmac for two hours
waiting for the ambulance, we then were
told that the passenger had not made it.
After two seizures and convulsions she
passed away before the plane landed. Of
course we were all in shock, and it was
a solemn eight hours as we made our way
across the Atlantic and on to Amsterdam.
She was only thirty years old.

Life is short. People matter. ‘Things’
have no value. This is what I know and
live, and this incident brought these
value back into my consciousness. You
already know this, I am sure.

Yes, my life and my business will
continue. We must all move past these
events, but being more aware can be
a very good thing. I can’t get the
image of this young woman out of my
mind, knowing that her last hours
were spent with four hundred strangers
instead of her husband and children.

I promise to keep you updated with
my travels through Finland and Estonia
over the next few weeks. I will smile
again and regain the joy of life and
living. But I will never forget.

To Your Massive Online Success,
Connie
