In 1992, at the age of 37 I sat
alone in a hospital room and faced
the most difficult challenge of my
life. I had just been told I had
Stage 3 breast cancer and might only
live another six months to a year.
As you can imagine, I was terrified
at what was to come. I had never
thought of myself as a fighter, but
that all changed that day.
In seven weeks I am walking for the
first time in the Avon Breast Cancer
event, and I need your help to do
this. It will mark twenty years since
I was told I would most likely survive,
a day when God truly touched my life.
I signed up back in April, but this
is the first time I am sharing it
publicly. For some strange reason I
have been shy about asking for your
help. If you could make even a small
donation of five or ten dollars it
would help me to meet my goal. I also
need your encouragement to walk the
39 miles of the course over the two
day period.
