My subject line today comes from Seth Godin’s latest post. When I started online almost fourteen years ago I knew that if I took small steps each day they would add up over time and build my business in a slow and steady way. Here I am almost five thousand days later, continuing to take small steps each day. I use a dynamic to-do list and I consider my day a success if I complete three or four items, delegate some items to others, and eliminate items that will not serve me today or over time.

My very first public speaking engagement was on how to use social media. It was in 2006 and I spoke to a group of business owners. I got several clients from this talk. Businesses have little interest in learning how to use social media and are willing to pay well for your help with simple postings and updates.
